King of The Dog Park

...Who brought a cow to the dog park?

When Barricade and the rest of our Great Dane "pack" hit our local Bark Park in small town Tennessee, he and his sisters pretty much dominate. Barricade thinks it's adorable when Duke, the unaltered, (aggressive) male Labrador Retriever tries to "out Alpha" him. Barricade never snaps back but he's not above a head butt or two (which typically sends Duke flying). We have fun. Everyone in the park comes to point and look at Barricade and we usually spend at least 10 minutes taking pictures with people. He has no shame! He loves the attention. He was born to be a King!

Don't be like Duke's Mom, always spay and neuter your pets, please.

Sorry We've Neglected You.

   My bad!
So sorry I've been neglectful of Barricade's personal online presence! Please don't fault him, because he can't type... or read... speak in complete sentences... or speak. My "real" writing job (the boring fashion one) has taken up so much of my time over the past few months, that I haven't had a chance to focus on Barricade's Blog. However, I've made a very belated New Year's resolution to keep up with Barricade's blog all summer long :)
I'll be keeping basically an online diary of my life with this comical and beautiful giant. I'll also keep you updated on the volunteer work Barricade and I do (mostly me) with the Great Dane Rescue that saved Barricade from a shelter and brought him into my life. Check back next week for the story of how Barricade and I met! It's totally a "meetcute!" (meetcute- Google it).
